Rights VRT TV series Salamander sold to US

30 July 2012

The American broadcaster ABC has bought the rights for the remake of the Flemish TV series Salamander with Filip Peeters. Already at the end of 2012, at the release of the series in Flanders, the makers said there was interest from the US. Only now is everything gaining momentum. Salamander is about a bank robbery where 66 vaults are robbed in the small family bank Jonkhere in Brussels. The victims decide not to mention the case. But Chief Inspector Paul Gerardi, a role of Filip Peeters, finds the case. The Americans do not make an indiscriminate copy. Other main characters are even created. Salamander 2 will be shown in the Netherlands in a year's time. (copyright: www.showbizzsite.be)
