Member of the jury @ DOCVILLE, the International Documentary Film Festival in Leuven (BE) 22.03 - 30.03.2023
Honoured to be part of the jury for the Best National Documentary award at the 19th edition of DOCVILLE.
DOCVILLE is a festival dedicated to DOCUMENTARY, with a strong focus on NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL AUTHOR DRIVEN CINEMA. Docs that not only speak to the MIND but also the HEARTmade by creators with PERSONALITY and VISION. Films that deserve to be seen on the white screen
The winner of the Best National Documentary award will be chosen by Floris-Jan Van Luyn (Netherlands), known a journalist/director/screenwriter, Willem Wouters (Netherlands), who co-organizes the Beholders festival and myself.
The prize for the winner is a generous 2,000€, donated by SABAM for Culture.
Docville, the International Documentary Film Festival, will be held in Leuven (BE) from 22.03 - 30.03.2023

"DAG MA", gerealiseerd door Marie De Hert en Ellen Pollaert wint de Juryprijs voor Beste Belgische Documentaire @ Docville 2023.
"DAG MA", een pareltje van een docufilm gerealiseerd door Marie De Hert en Ellen Pollaert haalde het van 9 andere pareltjes en kreeg hiervoor de Juryprijs voor Beste Belgische Documentaire @ Docville 2023. Als jurylid heb ik samen met mijn twee Nederlandse collega's, Floris-Jan Van Luyn en Willem Wouters, de eer gehad om gedurende zeven dagen een sterke selectie van genomineerde documentaires te mogen beoordelen. De films waren zorgvuldig geselecteerd door festivaldirecteur Frank Moens en getuigden van een opmerkelijke diversiteit en cinematografische expertise.
