The VAF Board of Directors was renewed and expanded in January 2018. Until 2017, the Board of Directors consisted of 9 directors. Since 2018 the Board consists of 11 directors, seven of whom are appointed by the Flemish Government, supplemented by four independent directors *, in implementation of the decree on good governance in the public sector.

GOVERNMENT COMMITTEES  Also in 2018  were An Moons and Jan Vermassen, the government commissioners at the VAF. The government commissioners are the representatives of the competent Flemish minister (s) and supervise the policy pursued by the VAF, both in terms of content and financially. With this assignment the government commissioners attend the meetings of the Board of Directors.
